Alcohol Addiction

Party

Addiction can involve substances like drugs, alcohol, nicotine as well as behaviours like gambling, gaming, internet use, sex, etc. It is characterized by intense cravings, impaired control, risky use, and negative life consequences related to that substance or behaviour.

It involves:

A persistent, intense urge or craving to use a substance or engage in a behaviour

Loss of control in limiting intake or engagement in the addictive behaviour

Continued use or engagement despite harmful physical, psychological or social effects

Development of tolerance, requiring increasing amounts to achieve the desired effect

Whatever triggers your addictions we can use a range of NLP and Time Line techniques to help you deal more effectively with the root causes of your addiction and prevent the reactions.

We focus on understanding and reprogramming the connections between thoughts, emotions, language, and behaviors that contribute to addictive patterns.

This approach allows us to break down the feelings of helplessness. NLP techniques help individuals build emotional strength and resilience, making it easier to manage cravings and setbacks during recovery. NLP breaks down addictive behaviors into smaller, more manageable components. This enables individuals to identify triggers, understand the root causes of their drinking, and develop step-by-step strategies for change. By influencing both internal (thoughts) and external (communication) language, NLP helps clients better cope with triggers and process traumatic memories that may fuel addiction.

Common NLP strategies in addiction counseling include: Establishing a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client, often through techniques like matching and mirroring body language. Using specific questioning techniques to clarify and challenge limiting beliefs or distorted thinking patterns that sustain addiction. Helping clients clearly define their recovery goals, identify obstacles, and create actionable plans for achieving sobriety1.

We will where necessary use NLP alongside other therapeutic approaches which can be adapted to individual needs. Some clients need help in their own environment to remove and deal with their own individual triggers.
